A Healthier, More Productive Life for Seniors
Artisan Senior Living is designed with the specific needs of the Alzheimer's residents in mind—individualized care, a comfortable setting and a safe environment. Our homes are reminiscent of the Craftsman architectural style that is based on the philosophical idea that utilizes functional aesthetics, natural materials, and a greater degree of craftsmanship. The original "Arts and Crafts" architects and designers, such as Frank Lloyd Wright, believed that a return to a simpler, less pretentious style would lead to a healthier, more comfortable and productive life. Artisan Land Group embraces that philosophy and thus the concept of Artisan Senior Living has emerged.

We have designed our homes to feel like a real home with a warm and welcoming floor plan where activity is centered around our spacious great rooms and family kitchen. Our attractive bedroom suites each with a private half bath are not only functional and comfortable but are also large enough for our residents to bring their treasured furniture and heirlooms.

Recognizing the importance of the outdoor activity in our daily programs, Artisan Senior Living has designed beautifully landscaped courtyards and outdoor living environments. A garden setting with safe walking paths and shaded seating areas allow for residents to enjoy fresh air and a little sunshine.

Personalized Services & Assistance
We understand that each resident is an individual with unique needs and preferences. That's why we meet with residents and family and conduct an assessment prior to move-in and at regular intervals after to better understand the need for assistance and support in the following areas:

  • Personal hygiene and grooming
  • Medication management
  • Continence management
  • Dressing and clothes selection
  • Assistance with dining
  • Showering or bathing
  • Monitoring of safety
  • Socialization and activities
  • Mobility and transferring

This assessment helps determine the appropriate care and service that preserves each resident's dignity, encourages independence and best enables freedom of choice. Upon completion of the assessment, a team of our community professionals comprised of the Executive Director/ Coordinator and our designated care manager prepares an individualized care plan that is monitored on a daily basis.

Our staff is trained to help manage the unique needs of Alzheimer's residents suffering from dementia and other memory impairments. As part of the training, each staff member is assigned an experienced mentor who provides guidance and expert advice. This training continues as more research and information becomes available on best care practices.

Our staff looks for opportunities to help residents succeed at familiar tasks, whether it is making their bed, getting dressed on their own, baking bread & cookies or setting the table. These activities give residents the opportunity to experience the satisfaction of a job well done with the security of knowing a friendly and helping hand is always nearby.

Resource Library & Seminars
For the family and friends of residents with Alzheimer's disease, Artisan Senior Living offers links and access to various Alzheimer web sites along with a small resource library with additional information and education on the care of those with memory impairments and the needs of the caregiver. An active volunteer program encourages family involvement in the residents' lives.

Research has revealed that structured mental exercise through the use of stimulating activities can enhance brain function. This unique approach helps seniors stay more alert, focused, be less anxious, and strives to help slow the progression of further memory loss.

Our staff is well trained in memory stimulating techniques. Even more important, they make it their business to know each resident as an individual. Their complete focus is to gently guide each resident to make their own choices each day and to provide appropriately challenging and meaningful activities. The result for our residents is increased independence and self-esteem.

Working closely with each resident with multi-sensory experiences, we can take our residents on a soothing journey to a place in life that was comfortable and pleasant. Designed to accommodate the unique needs of people with Alzheimer's disease and other memory impairments, our Cottage home provides a safe and stimulating environment for individuals to enjoy esteem-building activities.

Our staff involves residents in pleasant daily routines, such as gardening, sewing, infant care, office work and household chores. Our decorative Keepsake Memory Boxes are a big hit with residents and their families. Residents and their families decorate the box and display it outside the resident's room to include items that they can safely touch and feel.
